The small delivery bicyclists doing Uber Eats, etc. still had the handlebar mounted mittens on several of the bikes. Hardy guys hustling for a buck.

Not so. Bicycles are smaller, more nimble, and privileged vs cars in NYC. It is a strategic choice.

I did not forget that, I factored it into my thinking. I’m not saying cut their pay. I’m saying up their tax rate on all household income. Big difference.

Gold price movements lead changes in crude oil by about 20 months. How gold knows ahead of time is a fascinating question for which I don’t have a satisfying answer.

Just visited New York City for a conference. It has been a while, and I have a couple of observations which stood out. First, the buses still show the route number and destination but that alternates with a FARE REQUIRED message, in case anyone is confused abo

If you are going to blame Trump for rising beef prices now, then you have to blame him for starting the breakout move in gold prices a year and a half before he got elected to his 2nd term. Cattle prices follow gold with a ~15-month lag time.

Alert strategy ideas

  • Treat this as a high-signal account: lower posting frequency can make each post more informationally dense for swing and macro positioning.
  • Build theme-based alerts around "more", "prices", "about" and map those to the sectors or instruments most exposed to that narrative.
  • Use the peak posting windows (11:00-12:00 UTC and 13:00-14:00 UTC) to tighten monitoring during likely headline clusters.
  • Pair instant post alerts with your execution checklist so you can react during the first market repricing rather than after social commentary spreads.
